We often treat the body like a vehicle—something that gets us from point A to point B, something to fix or fuel or push harder when it breaks down. But what if the body is more than that? What if it’s not just a car, but a finely tuned instrument? Or more accurately—an antenna?
Today, on this Sacred Saturday, I invite you to consider that your body is not simply a tool to carry you through life, but a conduit, a receiver and transmitter of energy, information, and insight. In this view, your body isn't something to override or ignore—it's how you listen to the world beneath the noise.
The Body as Antenna
Science now supports what many ancient traditions have always known: our bodies are electrically and energetically alive. From the electromagnetic fields of the heart, to the subtle frequencies of the nervous system, to the crystalline structures in our bones and brain, we are walking signal towers—constantly transmitting, receiving, and interpreting information beyond what we consciously perceive.
Take, for example, the pineal gland—often called the “third eye” in spiritual traditions. Nestled in the center of the brain, the pineal gland is sensitive to light, circadian rhythm, and, according to both mystics and some modern researchers, electromagnetic frequency. It's lined with piezoelectric crystals (yes—actual crystals) that may help it function as a kind of internal compass or receiver of subtle information. When this part of the brain is "attuned," people often report moments of insight, connection, and clarity—what some might call divine downloads.
When the Body is Attuned…
When we treat the body as an antenna—not just a tool—we begin to listen differently. We move with more reverence. We sense the subtleties. We notice when we’re off-frequency—and we have tools to reattune.
Outcomes of this attunement include:
- A deeper sense of peace even amidst chaos
- Spontaneous insight and intuitive knowing
- The return of creative flow and emotional resilience
- A growing capacity to feel connected—to people, to nature, to something larger
And perhaps most importantly, a sense of being home in your body—not as something to control, but as something to trust.
Sacred Practices: Tuning the Body
Across cultures, religions, and spiritual traditions, people have developed sacred practices intended to activate and harmonize the body’s energetic fields. These aren’t just rituals for tradition’s sake; they’re tools to tune the antenna.
- Chanting and mantra work with vibration to align body and breath with deeper frequencies. (Think of monks chanting in a Himalayan monastery or Gregorian chants in an old stone cathedral.)
- Breathwork and yoga use physical postures and breath patterns to regulate the nervous system and open energetic flow.
- Pilgrimage and walking meditation engage the body rhythmically, often in sacred landscapes, attuning us to the energy of the earth beneath our feet.
Even fasting, cold plunges, and stillness practices like Vipassana meditation help strip away static and noise so we can feel the hum of what lies underneath.
These practices aren’t just about health or stress relief. They’re about remembrance—bringing the body back into harmony with the frequencies of the natural world, with what some call God, Source, or the Field.
Sacred Places: Earth's Transmitters
And then there are sacred sites—places on Earth where the body seems to light up. These include:
- Sedona, Arizona, with its red rock vortexes that pulse with geomagnetic energy.
- Machu Picchu and the Andes, where altitude, isolation, and ancient design align to spark spiritual clarity.
- Glastonbury Tor in the UK or Mount Shasta in California—both long considered places of heightened energetic presence.
Many who visit these places report feeling lighter, more open, inspired, or even altered. It’s not just the beauty—it’s the body receiving something. And when you’ve tuned your antenna—through practice, stillness, and intention—you’re more likely to receive the signal.
Sacred Saturday Invitation:
This weekend, take time to treat your body not as a machine to push or fix, but as a sacred receiver. Light a candle. Breathe slowly. Take your shoes off and feel the Earth. Sing, sway, still yourself.
Notice what happens when you stop broadcasting and start listening.
You are already connected.
You just have to tune in.
You just have to tune in.
With reverence,
